Job Description

Job title : Mainframe Testing

Location : Anywhere India

Exp : 7+ Yrs required

NP : Immediate - 30 days

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Testing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in mainframe technologies, a strong understanding of various SDLC methodologies, and the ability to develop and utilize automation tools. This role requires occasional overlap with US Central time zone to collaborate with colleagues.

Required Qualifications :

- Proven experience in Mainframe technologies: TSO, MVS JCL, ISPF, File Aid, COBOL, SQL, DB2.

- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Iterative/Incremental).

- Experience with automation tools and tool development using ISPF, CLIST, and REXX.

- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to C/C++ or Java.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities :

- Conduct thorough testing of mainframe applications, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.

- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mainframe systems.

- Utilize automation tools and develop custom tools using ISPF, CLIST, and REXX to streamline testing processes.

- Perform data validation using SQL and manage databases like DB2.

- Collaborate with development and QA teams to identify, document, and track defects.

- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure adherence to best practices.

- Work with various SDLC methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative/Incremental.

- Occasionally overlap with US Central time zone to meet with colleagues and stakeholders.
