Job Description
We are looking for a L2 Backup & Storage Administrator who will be
responsible for Managing the Mission critical infrastructure. Which includes implementation,
manage and monitoring the infrastructure; also, to collaborate with other team
members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
Key Responsibilities
·
Resolve or escalate level-appropriate technical
issues for customers in accordance with team playbook guidelines via phone and
ticketing
·
Perform provisioning, expansion, and
decommissioning of customer backup and storage across single and multi-tenant
arrays
·
Take ownership for handling and maintaining Backup
& Data storage's process , including networks in an organization.
·
They do this by building strategies and
planning and implementing solutions for storage and maintenance of data and
backing it up off-premises.
·
Perform Data protection for the Infrastructure and
application.
·
Ensure the Backup Success rate as per the monthly
KPI.
·
Respond to requests for basic or procedural
information
·
Perform basic hardware break fix
·
Troubleshoot monitoring alerts and create tickets
accordingly
·
Act as an escalation point for techs inside and
outside the team encouraging peers to participate in problem solving
·
Escalate support requests according to escalation
procedures
·
Perform incident management identification, assist
in managing and escalation
·
Ensure adherence to customer & SLA commitments
·
Manage personal ticket cue and monitor ticket
response times and take appropriate actions to ensure team response time
targets are met
·
Collaborate with Account Managers and Business
Development Consultants to build strong customer relationships
·
Collaborate and share knowledge with other
administrators on the support floor
·
Provide Fanatical Experience to customers in all
the above
Skills
·
Knowledge of data backup and restoration
methodologies using Networker
·
Knowledge of Dell EMC Storage Subsystems
·
Developing general understanding of databases
including Microsoft SQL and MySQL
·
Developing knowledge and understanding of
troubleshooting, testing, and performance tuning in Storage platforms
·
Developing knowledge of storage best practices for
current VMware, Windows and Linux operation systems, File systems, SQL, MySQL,
Oracle, and Exchange
·
Developing working knowledge of Networking, Fiber
Channel concepts, and technologies
·
Basic understanding of patching - documents changes
based on requests for change
·
Basic ability to apply change control procedures
·
Basic ability to perform cross platform
troubleshooting tasks
·
Basic working knowledge of virtualization and/or
cloud technologies e.g. VMWARE, Hyper-V, KVM and/or OpenStack
·
Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/
scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of
activities
·
Understands how the team integrates with others to
accomplish the team objectives
·
Sound problem solving and troubleshooting skills
